Drama, Confidence & Creative Growth for Young People (Year 7 - 12)

You can’t use up creativity.
The more you use, the more you have.
— Maya Angelou

At Inner West Drama, our programs help young people build confidence, creativity, and real performance skills in a supportive, inspiring environment. Whether a young person is exploring drama for the first time or wants to refine their craft, our classes combine playful exploration with structured skill development.

Why it matters:

Drama is a powerful way for young people to grow - on stage and in life, by learning to communicate clearly and confidently, collaborate with others, and think creatively and take bold action.

What Young People Gain

Our programs help young people to ◆
Develop confidence in self-expression and stage presence
Build communication and teamwork skills
Explore character, voice, and physicality

Take creative risks in a safe, encouraging environment

Youth Programs

Drama Classes

Be brave. Be connected.

Our term-based Drama Classes are designed for 12–17 year olds who want to explore performance and develop core skills. Through voice work, movement, script study, and ensemble work, students learn to present themselves with clarity and confidence.

Throughout the term, students also have performance opportunities to apply what they learn in real creative contexts.

Classes include
Vocal production - learning to use the voice powerfully
Movement - telling stories through the body
Acting techniques - exploring methods to develop character and truth
Script analysis - understanding text with depth
Stagecraft - gaining practical performance tools
